Install Custom Firmware on PSP 2000

Sony releases updates to their PSP's firmware, which adds functionality to the console. For gamers trying to expand the functionality of these PSP 2000 Housing Case beyond Sony's limits, there exists custom firmware. This software allows the PSP to stream music, run independently created games or mimic the characteristics of hand-held devices including the iPhone. Downloading and installing custom firmware will demand you to modify both your PSP's battery and memory stick.



Instructions

1. Download the files necessary to make a magic memory stick. These files can be downloaded on your computer's desktop.

2. Insert a blank memory stick into your PSP Slim and power it on.

3. Connect your PSP 2000 Repair Parts on your computer having a USB connector cable. Enter USB mode by selecting the possibility from your far left of the cross-media bar.

4. Open the file folder you downloaded. The name should read Dcv4-TM. Extract the many files with this folder on your computer's desktop--not onto the connected PSP.

5. Open the extracted file folder and then click on "Install Dcv4.bat". This can install the files on your connected memory stick.

6. Press "Circle" for the PSP to exit USB mode. Take away the memory stick from a PSP.

7. Power journey PSP and reinsert the memory stick.

8. Take away the battery from the PSP but don't discard it. Quite a few after you're finished upgrading the firmware.

9. Replace battery with your PSP using the Pandora Battery. This battery allows your PSP to enter service mode, where it might then receive custom firmware updates.

10. Press the power button to get in the recovery menu while pressing the up directional arrow on your own PSP.
