Xbox SmartGlass will not pipe full 360 titles to second screen

Microsoft's impressive SmartGlass continues to be billed by many like a shot across Nintendo's bow. After all, whether or not the Wii U is run on wholly different technology and software, the result is remarkably similar. However, at E3, we were capable of learn that the Wii U will retain one or more potent advantage on SmartGlass. That is, the chance to play full-scale titles within the second screen.

All the potential as SmartGlass has, the technology will not likely support streaming full Xbox 360 system titles with a SmartGlass enabled-second screen. We had been relayed through the Microsoft representative that this technology important for wirelessly transmitting HD video streams seriously isn't inside the current Xbox 360 system. This can be a rare case of software not being able to help Microsoft cover the Xbox 360's age. Tally one for Nintendo.

Obviously, this is the Xbox 360 system that can't stream full games or HD video to SmartGlass screens. Microsoft will be silly never to offer it in the future console, and also by time the Wii U lands this christmas new Xbox hardware might be a scant year away.

Microsoft has a interesting foundation in SmartGlass. Now we'll see just what company does by it.
